Happy Trails Dog Ranch

Growing up with 2 dogs and 3 cats I am most happy when I can share space with animals. 

I have had my beautiful fur buddy, Kaiser, for 12 glorious years. Together we have gone through puppy socialization classes and dog obedience training, (not to mention a transatlantic flight, 4 houses, 3 countries, 2 children and countless deployments). He is a 12yo German shepherd, who has taught me how to be a kind, patient leader and how to work with headstrong, intelligent dogs. 

I have fostered dozens of dogs, mostly seniors, from mid-size to xl and a whole range of breeds, temperaments and quirks! I understand that each dog has their own unique personality and have become adept at reading dog body language and helping them feel safe and comfortable with me. Working with seniors, I am used to keeping track of and administering medications.

In 2022 the universe decided we needed another dog and we ended up with Blitz, a Siberian husky that has had a very hard life. After the family we were fostering him for decided they didn’t want him back and we couldn’t find anyone in the market for a “husky with issues” he became a permanent member of our pack.

After moving to Southern Maryland I recognized a need for affordable dog care options for pets who don't thrive in a kennel environment. In 2024 I decided to obtain the necessary licenses and insurance and create such a place. Your pup will be loved and cared for in a family environment. They will be welcomed into our pack and treated like family.

After consultation with you, the expert on your dog, we will come up with a personalized plan of care. If you have a high energy dog I can accommodate extra walks and olfactory play, if you have a senior dog I can accommodate gentle strolls and and medical needs they may have.
